Description

The HD2013 is a reliable and sturdy tipping bucket rain gauge, built entirely from corrosion-resistant materials in order to guarantee reliability, accuracy, and durability. and to withstand even extreme conditions. Depending on the environment where the rain gauge is placed, there is a choice between the heated or non-heated versions (HD2013R).

The principle of a tipping bucket rain gauge is simple: depending on the quantity of rainfall, the tipping bucket mechanism fills and empties. Every tipping action operates a reed contact: in this way counting the quantity of the rainfall. This means that the tipping bucket has one enormous advantage: it needs no power supply to operate. The power supply is only a necessity when circumstances demand heating because of low environmental temperatures.

Reading the number of counts, in other words reading the rainfall, can be done locally by using a local (battery-operated) datalogger such as the HD2013-DB. But it is also possible to communicate directly the results through one of our dataloggers of the HD33 series. The built-in 4G/3G/GPRS modem makes it easy to upload the data directly to one of our cloud applications or to your own secured server.

HD2013 is available as well with optional analog output at the choice between 4…20 mA or 0…10 Vdc (to be specified when placing the order) or with optional SDI-12 digital output. When ordering, the rain gauge is completely set up to be used.

Easy to install, adjustable feet and leveling device integrated. Bird spikes and accessories for raised mounting are available.

Options:

  • Bird spikes
  • Heater: power voltage 12 Vdc or 24 Vdc (to be specified when ordering) ± 10% / power absorption 165 W.
  • Contact output and analog output: at choice between 4…20 mA or 0…10 Vdc (to be specified when ordering). The contact output and the analog output are alternatives and the rain gauge is factory-configured with analog output.
  • Configurable measuring range (the analog output full scale, 20 mA or 10 V, can be associated to different rainfall values).
  • Power supply 7…30 Vdc. RL max = 50 • (Vcc – 7) W for 4…20 mA output. Measure remote reset command.
  • Contact output and SDI‑12 digital output. The contact output and the SDI-12 output are alternatives, and the rain gauge is factory-configured with SDI‑12 output.
  • Power supply 7…30 Vdc. Measure remote reset command.
